Jen Slifer is Morley's Curriculum Specialist. Previous to working at Morley, Jen was a Reading Specialist at King Philip Middle School and Bristow Middle School. She also has experience at the elementary level and was a Language Arts teacher at middle schools in other districts.

As a Curriculum Specialist, Jen works closely with all of the teachers at Morley to support staff with instructional needs for students, including enrichment and remediation. She also plays an active role in the continuous school improvement process and works closely with the Principal on all matters related to the Morley school/parent community.

Her door is always open for feedback and questions.

What are the Connecticut Core Standards?

K-12 academic standards in mathematics and English language arts/literacy adopted by the CT State Board of Education and by states across the country in 2010.

  • Establish what students should understand, know, and be able to do as they progress through grades K-12

  • Curriculum units based on these standards will be implemented in both mathematics and English-language arts in grades K-5 this year
